The Angel's Share, based in The Station, Richmond, is run by Alex Franks, who is passionate about quality produce, original baked specialities, and restaurant-quality takeaway meals.

What started as a small artisan bread bakery ten years ago has grown to include a large delicatessen, selling genuine Italian food products and delicious dishes to tempt any visitor in need of a sweet treat or savoury meal to impress for dinner.

But let's not forget about those freshly baked loaves that come out of their ovens, just after The Station opens its doors on a morning.  The aroma is just…well, heavenly, as you'd expect from the angels who bake them.

Their bread recipes feature regular wholesome favourites and a few cheeky specials.  Every St Patrick's Day they make a loaf mixed with Guinness, complete with a shamrock baked into the crust!

The deli always has a selection of freshly made salads, loose olives, wonderful quiches and cheeses plus an award-winning Cumberland Pie that's to die for.

Alex says, "I love Mediterranean cooking and baking," and it shows in everything these artisan bakers turn their hands to.  More recently, this includes delicious ready meals.  Often, with just a few days' notice, they can prepare exactly what a customer desires - bespoke catering that's so reasonably priced, it's quite astonishing.

The Angel's Share was a finalist in ITV's 'Britain's Best Bakery' in 2014.  You'll discover why every time you visit.
